Days before Christmas I took a much anticipated snowy drive out to New Hampshire’s seacoast.
The unexpected flurries had my inexperienced hands white-knuckling the steering wheel for the entire hour-long drive.
I was making this trek in the less-than-optimal weather conditions to meet my former wedding photographer turned close friend; Mat.
I hadn’t seen Mat since our wedding but we’ve remained close this past year. A friendship forged.
When we met that morning it was as if we had seen each other there yesterday for my engagement session.
Something about meeting him there in Portsmouth that day felt so familiar and nostalgic.
All the angst from my drive melted away when I finally met up with Mat and his friend Lisa at a local coffee shop.
The three is us wonderlust around town laughing, catching up, all while Mat captured photos.
A winter wonderland in one of the most picturesque seaport towns in New England.
The quaint town provided the perfect backdrop for our shoot.
There was a magnificent cold quiet that hung in the air.
But we were all so enveloped in warm laughter and conversation that we hardly even noticed.
We were in our personal snow globe.
Traipsing the streets lined with historical homes.
Rustic barn doors and aged cobblestone walls.
Evergreen branches heavy with freshly fallen snow.
As if we had wondered into a scene from ‘The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe’.
It was wondrous, like it was all there just for us to explore.
An enchanted winter forest.
Snowflakes and witty sarcasm.
A true delight.
What a gift it was to see my good friend and have him share his gift with me💛
