Dr. Sarah Cohen is a second generation chiropractor with a passion for unleashing optimum human potential. She’s not your average rack’em crack’em chiro, she practices NETWORK SPINAL: thorough specific, non-invasive, tonal adjustments. This enables her to unwind stored tensions in the nervous system, allowing the body to reorganize to a higher level of functioning. Dr. Cohen additionally implements breathing exercises, Somato-Respiratory Integration, or body-breath work and offers group guided meditations. Conscious Chiropractic offers healing from above-down, inside-out.
IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS:
- Presence is the inverse of force
- Traditional chiropractic versus Network Spinal
- We touch on the history of chiropractic care
- Nature needs no help, it just needs no interference
- Network spinal deals with the root cause: WHY bones go out of alignment
- Network spinal studies adverse mechanical cord tension
- The reason bones go out of alignment is actually a very smart response of the body
- A natural response to trauma is observed in nature (shaking, wagging, flapping, moving) versus what we have societally learned to do: hold it in
- We’re NOT expressing our full range of emotions and by default we are storing and/or absorbing them
- What happens in our body when we don’t feel safe
- What causes us to drop down to a lower level of brain function
- The different intelligences:
- Bioenergetic (everything is reactive, victim mindset
- Emotional (ages 1 – 4 y.o)
- Lower mental (4 – 12-16)
- Upper mental
- Soul intelligence / awakenment
- The triad of change:
- Behavior
- Structure
- Perception
- The 12 stages of healing → asking where the pin is really coming from?
- Viewing pain as an invitation to change, when you’re not living in alignment with your true authentic life
- Sarah shares about the sexual assault she experienced and ultimately why she chose the Network Spinal approach to chiropractic care
- Every single thing happens to us from the inside out
- We are cultured to believe that we’re born, not good enough
- Staying in isolation from a shaming experience, amplifies the suffering
- We need energy to make a change, something will happen to create change
- Riding the wave between stability and instability: a constant dynamic flow of energy
- Suffering is a state where energy is lacking/unavailable
- The lesson of suffering is to suffer
- Instead of focusing on the thought: “I shouldn’t have this pain”, asking: “why am I experiencing this pain”
- When we acknowledge our suffering (instead of running from it) it melts away
- I am more than just my body, I am a soul & asking ourselves what we are here for
- Becoming aware of the gifts you have share
- Turning your wounds into a gift, honing it, owning it & giving it away
- Sharing our gifts with others, cultivates community, and how this is really what wellness is
- [Wellness + WE] vs. [Illness + I]
